"Obstacles to Forming New Working Relationships: What are they? How to overcome them?” with Professor Adam Levine of Cornell University

For our October Consultant Learning Session, the Bridge Alliance Education Fund is excited to host Professor Adam Seth Levine of Cornell University for "Obstacles to Forming New Working Relationships."

Adam describes the session, which will take place on September 19th @ 2 PM EDT, like this:

"As Bridge Alliance members know, interacting with others who have diverse forms of knowledge can be incredibly rich and rewarding. These relationships can produce creative, path-breaking new ideas! Yet they can also lead to interpersonal discomfort and/or conflict. As a result of this latter possibility, people often have concerns about whether it’s worth the effort.

One concern commonly raised is trustworthiness — can I trust the other person? While trust is certainly important, it turns out that people’s concerns go well beyond it and include a suite of relational concerns about what the experience of interacting with the other individual will be like. The goal of the session is to provide a helpful discussion of what these relational concerns are and how to overcome them."
